8:45: Federal Healthcare Updates: “A Watch from Washington”

Amanda Smith, Grassroots Advocacy Manager

Amanda will present the climate in Washington around healthcare and review the state of 340B. There is much uncertainty around the actions of the new administration and Congress in regards to healthcare.


9:45: Becoming an Advocate and Telling Your 340B Story

340B Advocacy is extremely important to keep the program running. Please share and fill out your 340B Story to maintain the health of the program.

11:00: Macro Helix Product Developments and Updates

Judi Revels, RN, MBA and Jeff Sauer, Sr. Manager, Strategic Accounts

Judi and Jeff will discuss the new product developments that Macro has created along with future plans for improvements. Topics will include compliance updates, new software tools, and more!

12:30: Audit Vendor Panel: “The Economics, Qualification, and Self-Auditing Discussion and Q&A”

Todd Kenney, CPA, Randy Hoffman, Partner, and Kelly Kolker, Senior Manager, Pharmacy Services.

Auditors will be discussing the economics of 340B, Ineligible Clinic Locations, Qualifications, and Self-Auditing techniques.

Speakers Biographies

Amanda Smith:
Amanda Smith is the Grassroots Advocacy Manager for 340B Health, a nonprofit organization of more than 1,300 hospitals and health systems participating in the federal 340B drug pricing program. In this role, she helps hundreds of hospitals across the country discuss the importance of the 340B program with their lawmakers. Before joining 340B Health, Mrs. Smith worked for the United States Senate Committee on Finance. She graduated with a B.A. in government from the University of Virginia. She received her Master’s in Government Relations and Juris Doctor from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska

Judi Revels:
Judi Revels has been a Strategic Account Manager at Macro Helix for 2 and a half years. She has nine years of experience working with hospitals and pharmacies 340B programs and employee drug benefit programs. She is a registered nurse with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration and has more than ten years of experience in hospital patient care, quality assurance, hospital coding/billing, and auditing quality measurers. She is also a Six Sigma Green Belt and Licensed Private Pilot.

Jeff Sauer:
Jeff Sauer has 5 years of experience at Macro Helix with 3 years as a Sr. Account Manager. He has 6 years of experience as a Health Systems Account Manager for McKesson. He graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in business at Northern Illinois University.

BKD has over 2,100 personnel with around 890 CPAs that have served clients for over 90 years. They have more than 3,500 health care provider clients nationwide

Seim Johnson works with a wide range of clients from solo physicians to nearly 100 hospitals to help maximize their programs and are very active in the Healthcare Financial Management Association on both a state and national level.
